    The merSETA bursary opportunity will make it possible for you to gain the skills and grounding needed to make your mark in the manufacturing and engineering fields. If you have the ambition to work in one of the five merSETA sub-sectors and have excellent grades in mathematics or physical science (merSETA) may be looking for you.

    The merSETA bursary scheme will make it possible for you to gain the skills and grounding needed to make your mark in the manufacturing and engineering fields.

    You have excelled in your first academic year. You are a well-balanced individual seeking to obtain a bursary in the fields of:

    Who Can Sumbit An Application?

    An average pass mark of 60% in the chosen field of study
    Preference will be given to individuals from previously disadvantaged groups
    you will receive a monthly stipend
    An allowance for the Vacation work

    As a company that employs high calibre staff, we want to attract people who can contribute towards our drive to make Afrox a world-class company. Afrox, a Linde Group company, manages a bursary scheme. Bursary recruitment is in line with the company's needs. The bursary covers university fees, books, residence fees (including catering and laundry). A bursary is valid for one year only. Subject to academic success and performance during vacation work in Afrox, the "Young Talent Development Committee", may renew your bursary and contract for another year. This process will .continue until you graduate. 

    You are required to do vacation work in Afrox during June/July and December/January university breaks. A line manager will conduct a formal performance appraisal at the end of both vacation work periods. You, in turn, will compile a presentation based on a project you will have completed during the work period. You will present it to the "Young Talent Development Committee". 
    Preference is given to applicants from previously disadvantaged groups.

    TETA Bursary Description

    As part of its skills development initiatives, Transport Education Training Authority awards bursaries annually for studies aligned to critical and scarce skills identified in the transport sector skills plan. Bursary awards are categorised according to sector requirements, with due consideration of the National Skills Development Plan - 2030, compiled by the Department of Higher Education and Training. Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) is offering bursaries and invites qualifying unemployed learners to apply for bursaries or funding for the 2022 academic year.

    Learners eligible for bursaries: 

    • Currently in Grade 12 or have completed matric intending to study any of the qualifications listed below in 2022 

    • Currently registered students at Institutions of Higher Learning (including TVET colleges) and require funding for the 2022 academic year 

    • Aviation students with validPPL/CPL 

    • Commercial Divers with matric (Senior Certificate). Applications must be to accredited aviation schools, accredited diving schools and registered TVETs and HEIs. Only online applications will be accepted. NOTE: Manual or email applications will not be considered.

    • Funding will only be considered for applicants applying for qualifications in the list provided above and for studies leading to a full academic qualification 

    • Applicants should complete all fields in the online application form i.e. course of study, duration of study, cost per year and current year of study 

    • All required documents “MUST” be uploaded 

    • Applicants “MUST” apply for one qualification from the provided list. Note: Correspondence will only be entered into with successful applicants. If you have not received further correspondence from TETA by 30 January 2022, please consider your application unsuccessful.

    Sanlam Bursary 2023

    Part of our commitment to our trade is recognising that for one to be a master in their trade, support is a key ingredient. That is why we offer bursaries to scholars who have enrolled to study actuarial science.

    Who Should Apply?

    If you are a whiz at maths, enjoy a good challenge by solving difficult problems and are willing to remain focused and disciplined through years of studying and training, then you are just who we’re looking for.

    Sanlam Bursary Amount

    The bursary will cover the following cost:

    Tuition and accommodation fees
    General allowance (books and pocket money)
    Mentoring and academic support from Sanlam actuarial professionals

    Final Grade 11 results and Grade 12 min-year 2019 results as well as NBT results
    Certified copy of your identity document (ID)
    Grade 12 results may be used as determining factor
    An above 90% score in Mathematics and an overall A aggregate

    NMISA Bursary 2023

    Bursary Description

    The NMISA offers undergraduate and post-graduate bursaries at a recognised South African university. Upon completion, the bursars will be required to work one year for every year sponsored at the NMISA. Successful graduates will follow an exciting career at NMISA in the Science of accurate Measurement (Metrology).

    Minimum selection criteria

    Bursaries are offered on academic merit and financial need. Undergraduate students who are registered fulltime at a recognised South African university in any of the fields listed above. Candidates who are able to provide grade 11 results and progress report for grade 12 or are in possession of grade 12 exemption certificate with acceptable symbols. Applicants must be South African Citizens

    The bursary includes

    The full costs of registration and tuition, residence fees and allowance for prescribed books and necessary requirements. The successful candidates will have an opportunity to gain work experience at the NMISA during vacations.
